With Instrowest's ongoing growth and success, we are looking to expand our sales team. Instrowest seeks an External Sales Representative (Process Instrumentation) to join our team and promote our cutting-edge process instrumentation product portfolio. Position Overview:

As an External Sales Representative, your primary focus will be identifying, engaging, and visiting new customers within Australia's mining and mineral, oil & gas, health, energy sector, and many other industries. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base by showcasing our process instrumentation equipment through reaching new customers and product demonstrations. This position requires a self-driven individual who excels in building relationships, has strong sales acumen, and has a deep understanding of the target industries. A passion for technology and industrial tooling would also be an advantage.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  •     Identify and Target Customers: Seek out potential customers in the mining and mineral, oil & gas, manufacturing, health, energy sectors, and other relevant industries across Western Australia.
  •     Prospecting Techniques: Employ various methods including cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events to generate sales leads.
  •     Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a robust customer pipeline, overseeing the sales process from lead generation to closure.
  •     Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within targeted industries and existing customers.
  •     Customer Visits: Conduct in-person visits to potential customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  •     Product Demonstrations: Deliver compelling product demonstrations to showcase our process instrumentation equipment's features, benefits, and applications (Product training provided where needed).
  •     Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the sales &  marketing team to develop and implement strategic sales plans, expanding into new markets and increasing market share.
  •     Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective customers.
  •     Negotiations: Skillfully negotiate pricing and contractual terms to secure profitable sales agreements.
  •     Team Collaboration: Work closely with the internal and technical sales teams as required.
  •     Support and Reporting: Assist the sales admin team in ensuring smooth order processing, delivery, and after-sales support. Provide regular updates on sales activities, customer feedback, and market trends to the sales management team. Maintain accurate records in the CRM system.

Requirements:

  •     Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in B2B external sales, preferably in process instrumentation, industrial equipment or related products.
  •     Prospecting Skills: Strong prospecting and lead generation abilities, particularly within the mining and mineral, oil & gas, manufacturing, health, and energy sectors.
  •     Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation and product demonstration skills with the capacity to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  •     Self-Motivation: Proactive and self-motivated, capable of working independently and achieving sales targets.
  •     Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and closing skills focused on revenue growth.
  •     Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  •     Travel: Willingness and availability to travel to major cities, towns, and regional areas of Australia, visiting customers and attending industry events.
  •     CRM Familiarity: Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools for lead management and reporting.

Advantageous Qualifications:

  •     Electrical/Instrumentation Background: Experience in an electrical/instrumentation background, including trade or engineering qualifications.
  •     Industry Understanding: Understanding of test and calibration equipment, its applications, and its importance in industries like mining and mineral, oil & gas, manufacturing, health, and energy.
  •     Product Knowledge: Experience selling or working with process instrumentation and test & calibration equipment.
