With Instrowest's ongoing growth and success, we are looking to expand our sales team and we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate External Sales – Test & Calibration Equipment to represent Instrowest and our large and somewhat unique portfolio of products and services Australia-wide.

Position Overview:

As an External Sales Representative, your primary focus will be identifying, engaging, and visiting new customers within Australia's mining and mineral, oil & gas, health, energy sector, and many other industries. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base by showcasing our test and calibration equipment through product demonstrations. This position requires a self-driven individual who excels in building relationships, has strong sales acumen, and has a deep understanding of the target industries. A passion for technology and industrial tooling would also be an advantage.

 

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  •     Identify and target potential customers in the mining and mineral, oil & gas, manufacturers, health, energy sectors, and many other industries in Western Australia.
  •     Utilise various prospecting techniques such as exiting customers, cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events to generate new sales leads.
  •     Develop a robust pipeline of potential customers and manage the sales process from lead generation to closure.
  •     Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within targeted industries and existing customers.
  •     Conduct in-person visits to potential customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  •     Deliver compelling product demonstrations to showcase our test and calibration equipment's features, benefits, and applications. (Product training will be provided where needed.
  •     Work with the sales team to develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate new markets and increase market share.
  •     Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective customers.
  •     Negotiate pricing and contractual terms to secure profitable sales agreements.
  •     Collaborate closely with the internal sales and technical sales team where required.
  •     Work with the sales admin team to ensure smooth order processing, delivery, and after-sales support.
  •     Provide regular updates on sales activities, customer feedback, and market trends to the sales management team.
  •     Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities in the CRM system.

 

Requirements

  •     Proven track record of successful external sales experience in a B2B environment, preferably selling industrial equipment or related products.
  •     Ability to research and find new customers, make cold calls, visit new customers, and discuss their requirements.
  •     Excellent prospecting and lead generation skills, with the ability to identify and target potential customers within the mining and mineral, oil & gas, manufacturers, health, and energy sectors.
  •     Strong presentation and product demonstration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and benefits to diverse audiences. (Product training will be provided by Instrowest where needed.)
  •     Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently and meet sales targets.
  •     Excellent negotiation and closing skills, focusing on driving revenue growth.
  •     Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  •     Availability and willingness to travel to all Major cities, towns, and regional parts of Australia, visit customers and attend industry events.
  •     Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools to manage leads, track sales activities, and generate reports.

 

It will be advantageous if you have,

  •     Experience in an electrical/Instrumentation background, which could be a trade or engineering background.
  •     Understanding test and calibration equipment, its applications, and its importance in industries like mining and mineral, oil & gas, manufacturers, health, and energy.
  •     Experience selling or working with process instrumentation and test & calibration equipment.
